THE PROBLEM WITH US






We are a species of predators.

Our languages we use to muddy the water around this central truth about ourselves. 

Some of us try to be better. Sure, some of us eat meat, but we aren't serial killers because of it. Or are we?

Some of us try to be better. And, in doing so, do not eat meat. These aren't serial killers either. Or are they?

I'm quite sure the animals think of us as their killers when we kill them to eat them. And I am sure that the plant life eaten by the animals we eat think of them as their killers.

We humans aren't just predators though, we are super predators. Very rapacious, greedy ones. It's never been enough for us to kill to eat. No. We want to kill what others want to eat just to keep them from getting it.

And it's not just food in our cross hairs. We've divided ourselves into groups for a reason. Racial, ethnic, social, national groups all exist to give one group more resources than those opposed to them.

We want the water.

We want the air.

We want what's in the water/in the air.

We want the stars.

So why act so shocked when we want the oil-every drop of it??

Money, those little pieces of nothing that have been given value by linking them to the sell of real things, we want every denomination of it too. What we can't control, we will burn via wars.

The problem with humans is that we really don't like one another. Rip every bull shit social and genetic variation out of the equation and the problems will still exist that exist right now.

The truth about humans is that we just don't like anything unless it is in our hands. And when things are in our hands we consume them until there is nothing left of the things we sought after so much.

The problem with humans is that we are a problem. Somewhere along our evolutionary journey, aspects of our brains that should have modified did not. Our intellects grew but our ability to have real compassion for others, not the fake bull shit we all see all the time, did not develop. We had some positive mutations that allowed us to get to where we are today but it seems that we also had some genetic misfires too.

Somewhere our code is flawed. We have to fix it . And we have to fix it fast.

YOU THINK YOU HAVE IT TOUGH: So there I was, in a day room surrounded buy dudes that were high, drunk, or just fucking weird in the head 24/7. Everyone around me was highly unpredictable. Another time, all the time, another place, every place, and now it's hostile, control freak guards yelling at, and attempting to bully inmates. At all times, you get the noise. It is never quiet in prison. At any time a guard can stop you, wherever you are at, and strip search you. And at certain times they always do. You get to go to work for 12 hours and get paid zero. You can steal to hustle, or choose not to. Your cell can be shaken down at anytime buy any guard with a hard on for you. You get to move around at designated times. You go to chow, to work, to get clothes, to the showers, to the recreation yard, to the day room, to school. Learn from your environment. Mainly, you will learn on your own.. LOST IN THE DARK The problem with knowledge is there is so much of it. And it is everywhere. How can you learn, how can you know, it all?? Some people do the wrong thing because doing the right thing, where they are from, is perceived as being just to hard. Sometimes. All the time. And maybe it's just that doing the right thing, where they are from, can get you killed. I could be wrong about this. Some people do everything, that is within their power to do, right and things still go horribly wrong for them. Is it all the result of some elaborate ancient curse bestowed on an ancestor for doing something wrong? Or is it some other form of thought contagion. Thought confetti. Images and information blown out in all directions. So all we see is the glowing orb in the sky. The image that tells us there is something else we should probably be focusing on. Instead of focusing on the darkness, that we can't seem to see through, all around us.
